Sun-drenched skies, a stunning manor backdrop, a military groom, a cheerful bride, and an endearing dog ring bearer named Woody. This encapsulates the memorable day we spent filming Rosina and Michael's wedding at the breathtaking Rockbeare Manor in Devon, a venue that seamlessly melds historic charm and elegance, nestled in the heart of the idyllic English countryside.
Located a four-hour drive away from our base, this venture was nothing short of an adventure for our team. We arrived 90 minutes before the ceremony commenced, providing us ample time to capture the crucial preparation shots. The early scenes were brimming with anticipation and excitement as Michael, clad in his regal Marines uniform, prepared for the significant day ahead. His nervousness was evident and even led to a small hiccup as our microphone fell victim to his jitters. However, we quickly adapted, capturing the necessary audio from the registrar's microphone instead, demonstrating our ability to swiftly react to unexpected occurrences.
As the day unfolded under the warm Devon sun, we witnessed an array of memorable moments that breathed life into our task. We were there to create a highlights film, focusing on the ceremony and speeches, providing a magical narration of Rosina and Michael's special day. Their love story was an infectious one; their endless smiles and laughter were utterly contagious, their happiness permeating every frame.
Woody, their endearing dog, played an essential role as the ring bearer, adding a unique and personal touch to the occasion. His presence underscored the couple's personality, and his antics gave a delightful quirkiness to the film.
Despite the proximity to the airport restricting us from using our drone for sweeping venue shots, we innovatively utilized our other resources. We made the most of the beautiful venue, capturing its elegance and charm in full glory.
As the day transitioned into a mesmerizing Devonshire sunset, we seized the opportunity to capture golden hour shots. The warm hues of the setting sun bathed Rosina and Michael in a golden glow, further emphasizing their radiance. The day culminated with a sparkling finale, as we captured the joyous sparkler celebration in the evening.
Using a three-camera setup with two operators, we managed to encapsulate the joy, love, and warmth that characterized Rosina and Michael's wedding day.
